How Honour Her collects, holds and protects personal information — and the choices that stay with you.
1. Our Commitment
Honour Her is part of the Lamoureux Lane group of ventures.
A parent enrols. A daughter receives. That shape decides how we treat every piece of information here, and it is why this policy is stricter about a child’s details than the law requires.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the thirteen Australian Privacy Principles.
2. What We Collect
- The parent’s name and email address.
- The daughter’s first name and date of birth, so her rite reaches her at the right age and on her own birthday.
- The email address her rite is delivered to, where that differs from the parent’s.
- The first names and birthdates of any siblings a family chooses to add, so a rhythm can reach each of them in turn.
- Payment information, handled by our payment provider. Honour Her never holds full card details.
- Correspondence you send us.
- Technical information such as an IP address and browser, kept for security and for keeping the site standing.
We ask for a daughter’s first name and birthdate, and nothing more. No surname, no school, no photograph, no address of her own.
3. How We Collect It
Directly from the parent, at enrolment and afterwards.
Automatically, in small amounts, through ordinary use of this site.
From our payment provider, when a payment succeeds or fails.
4. Why We Hold It
- To deliver each rite at the right moment, to the right person, in the right order — the parent first, always.
- To let a family add a younger child now and have her rite begin on her own birthday, years later, without anybody having to remember.
- To take payment and to answer a question about it.
- To reply when you write to us.
- To keep the site secure.
5. A Child's Information
The parent holds the account. A child never creates one, and a child is never asked for anything beyond her first name and her birthdate.
Her writing is hers. Anything a girl writes in the course of a rite belongs to her. It is read by her alone, and it stays that way.
We never advertise to a child, and we never sell or disclose a child’s information to anybody for marketing.
A parent may ask us to remove a child’s details at any moment, and we remove them.
6. Who Else Sees It
Our payment provider, to take payment. Our email delivery provider, to carry each rite. Our hosting provider, to serve this site.
Each of them sees only what its job requires, and none of them may use it for anything else.
Personal information here is used to do the one thing you asked of us, and for that alone.
7. Where It Is Held
Some of our providers hold information outside Australia. Where they do, we take reasonable steps to see that it is protected to the standard the Australian Privacy Principles require.
8. Keeping It Safe
Information travels to and from this site over an encrypted connection, and access to it is limited to the people who need it.
Every system anywhere sits within somebody's reach, so we hold as little as the work requires and keep it only as long as the work requires.
9. What We Send You
A parent receives the rites they enrolled for, and occasional letters about Honour Her. Every one of those carries a way to stop receiving them, and stopping takes one moment.
A daughter receives her rites, and only ever her rites.
10. Seeing It And Correcting It
Ask to see what we hold about you or your daughter, to correct it, or to have it taken off — This Reaches Us. We answer within thirty days, and usually far sooner.
11. If A Breach Occurs
If a breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we notify the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
12. Making A Complaint
Tell us and we will look at it properly and answer you — This Reaches Us.
If our answer leaves you unsatisfied, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner accepts complaints at oaic.gov.au.
13. Changes
When this policy changes we publish the new version here and change the date below. A change that materially affects you is sent to you as well.
